After a hard day at work, there’s nothing quite as relaxing as kicking back with a e-cigarette in hand and listening to some of your favorite songs. However, there’s always the problem of deciding what to listen to. If you’re like me you’ve already gotten sick of all your playlists and are trying to think of other great songs to add into the rotation. So what can you do?
Personally, I sometimes like to create new theme playlists – songs about summer, cover songs, guilty pleasure songs, etc. So, I thought why not create a smoking mix? The easiest way to tackle this was to think of all the songs with smoke or smoking in the title. There are a few songs with smoke in the title that I can think of: Smoke on the Water by Deep Purple (okay not actually about smoking but a great song so I’ll throw it in the mix), Smokin’ by Super Furry Animals and Some Days Are Made For Smoking by Brainpool.
While I couldn’t think of as many songs with smoking in the title there are also plenty of songs with cigarettes in the title such as Cigarettes and Coffee by Otis Redding and Cigarettes & Alcohol by Oasis, etc. Even Bob Seger mentions smoking in his song Turn the Page, “with the echo from the amplifiers ringing in your head, you smoke the day’s last cigarette, remembering what she said”. And the legendary Beatles have this to say in their song A Day in the Life, “made the bus in seconds flat, found my way upstairs and had a smoke”.
Of course, there are loads of other songs about smoking but I figured I’d just make a quick list just to get started. If you can think of any great songs about smoking, then be sure to let me know in the comments.
