It’s that time of year again. As the weather heats up outside, so do the grills. Summer is one of my favorite times of year since it means I get the chance, once again, to enjoy that one-of-a-kind aroma of barbecue wafting through the air.
Personally, I like to grill using mesquite wood chips as it gives the meat a distinct and oh so delicious
taste. After all, nothing and I mean nothing, can come close to a properly grilled steak – crunchy on the
outside but moist and tender on the inside. YUM!
Of course, getting the meat just right is one thing, but finding or making the perfect barbecue sauce is
another. There are tons of different recipes for barbecue sauce, but I happen to like the following one as
it doesn’t have any exotic ingredients, it’s quick and did I mention – delicious?
What you’ll need:
4 oz. ketchup
2 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp vinegar, preferably cider
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 tsp mustard powder
Hot sauce to taste
Just combine all of the ingredients in a stove top pan, bring to simmer for a minute, and you’re done!
Okay, now that our mouths are watering for some BBQ, I think I’m going to have to wrap up this
post and start barbecuing. Hope you’re enjoying your summer – a great excuse to fire up the grill.
